Szechuan Pepper Sea Salt

Size

This Szechuan peppercorn is not the same as the one traditionally found in cupboards, it's formulation has a more hickory woodsy feel with splashes of citrus flavours that are finished off with a touch of ginger and coriander. It's stimulating berry like tastes make it a favorite staple in Asian and Chinese derived dishes. Seasoning blends and spice rubs are spruced up nicely with the addition of Szechuan Pepper sea salt. It meshes seamlessly with dishes made with soy sauce like orange chicken, but also doubles exquisitely to spice up a chocolate truffle or salad. Szechuan Pepper sea salt is the perfect gift for those who love to fire up and experiment with a wide range of tastes.

Description

Did you know that Szechuan peppercorns aren’t really peppers and are not related to chili peppers. Szechuan peppercorns are pinkish-red in colour and dried outer husks of the prickly ash shrub and typically used in Chinese and Asian cuisine.

Sea salt is unrefined salt derived directly from an ocean or sea. The difference between sea salt and table salt is on the processing, sea salt is unrefined meaning that the sea salt still contains natural traces of minerals required by our bodies to maintain optimal health such as iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, potassium, manganese and iodine. Sea Salt is a healthier option and more flavourful than traditional table salt so less sea salt is needed to flavour your dish.
